Manners Class

The Family Manners Class is designed to help owners with dogs 5 months of age, or older, that have not been trained before.  Dogs  that have trouble paying attention or have trouble bonding will benefit from this class. The class focuses on helping owners to communicate with their dog. It assists the owners in developing good leadership skills. In addition, it teaches problem-solving skills to increase good dog behaviors.  The owners will benefit because they will be more in control of their dog.  Owners will learn to interrupt bad behaviors and replace them with good dog behaviors.  Emphasizing rewards and motivating your dog will help interrupt bad behaviors and substitute good behaviors.  Finally, the class teaches beginning obedience exercises such as sit, down, come, stand, and walk. This class prepares the dog and owner to go on with more training.  First Time owners, shelter dogs and dogs who need to pay attention will benefit from this class.

Family Manners provides 7 weeks of training, beginning with evaluation of the dog and orientation at the first class.
